Which one fits you
Translate & Adapt
Shopify’s own app, and free. If you sell in a few languages, rarely touch your content and a weekly update (or clicking Auto-translate yourself) is quick enough, it may be all you need. Most stores start here and only move on when keeping up becomes a chore. More in Translate & Adapt vs Unlost.
Weglot
The big name. It works on many platforms besides Shopify, lets you pick between translation engines and has a visual editor. The thing to watch is the word limit, which is on the low side once your catalogue grows. More in Weglot vs Unlost.
T Lab

How to choose without regretting it
Start by counting: how many languages, and roughly how many words? Our guide on estimating your store’s words takes ten minutes and saves you from picking a plan you’ll outgrow in a month.
Then look at where automatic updates start. If you add products every week, an app that translates them by itself saves far more time than a cheaper plan you have to babysit.
And finally, test the awkward bits before you commit. Install on a test store and check four things: variant options, translated URLs, the custom texts in your theme, and one notification email. That’s where the differences between these apps really show.
